Selenite

Geology - Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, a soft sulphate mineral formed through the evaporation of saline water in sedimentary environments.

Characteristics - Typically colourless or white, it has a pearly lustre and translucent appearance. Its soft structure allows it to be easily carved and shaped.
